Waikanae Stream

TEC has supported and helped drive community-based efforts to improve Waikanae Stream. Initial clean-ups near the Skate Park were successful, and attention turned to planting the edges of this much-loved awa. Other partners in this effort have been Te Ora Hou, DOC, GDC, Jukes, Eastland Group and mana whenua Rongowhakaata. There are several working bees every year, usually well attended by Gisborne residents.

If that sounded interesting and you’d like to know more or be involved, please contact us for more information.
